The American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) did not have an existing site prior to 2000. They wanted a site that had a members-only section (password protected) and they wanted to tie the look of the site closely to their print collateral which featured a paper doll motif and the color purple.
The color scheme for the site was derived from the existing print collateral and logo design. Navigational links throughout the site are located on the left-hand edge of the home page and all secondary pages. Tertiary links are located at the top of some of the longer pages, allowing the user to more easily navigate to subheadings within the text (for an example of this, check out the link to the A History of the AWSCPA screenshot below) or tertiary-level pages within the site (as illustrated in the second screenshot on the left).
The home page navigation bar includes rollovers, as illustrated by the second item in the home page screen shot to the left (What's New?). Secondary page navigation bars include a visual indicator of the user's current location within the the site. In the case of the second screenshot onthe left, the Affiliates by Region page is within the Find Nearest Affiliate section of the site (denoted by the navigation bar link being in white instead of gold).
