Safe Night USA - So, What's a Safe Night?

It's a party for teens, in a safe place, at night.

	It's safe - no weapons, no drugs or alcohol and no arguments.
	It's a community thing. Teens, parents and local groups in each community plan it.
	It's fun because you decide what to do.
	It's a time to learn about:
	Dealing with anger. Getting straight about drugs and alcohol. Resolving issues together.
	It's a happenin' thing to do:
	Thousands of communities, millions of teens holding Safe Nights on June 5, 1999 simultaneously.
	It's on TV - Live on PBS and BET.
	Featuring celebrity performances. Our cameras will drop-in on sites all across America. We may visit your Safe Night.
	It's proven. It's effective.
	It was developed by a former police officer, Olusegun "Olu" Sijuwade. Safe Nights in Milwaukee, Wisconsin have been credited as a key factor in a 60% drop in juvenile homicide. Wisconsin Safe Night on November 15, 1996 had more than 100 Safe Nights in both urban and rural communities all across the state.
