Zoo
education classes run throughout the summer, with the goal that students
will develop positive attitudes toward animals while having fun learning.
Experienced
teachers, the zoo education coordinator and zoo attendants teach our Zoo
school classes. Using both their experience and the Zoo as a "living
laboratory," they teach students where animals live, what they eat,
how they socialize, and the role they play in the larger animal kingdom.
Summer
Zoo Classes Include:
- Kinderfari
- for ages 4 and 5
- Zoo
Explorers - Kids ages 6 and 7 learn about animals' special features
that help them survive in the wild.
- Zoo
Scouts - Kids ages 8 and 9 learn about the Zoo's large animals by
using fun comparisons between human and animal traits.
- Photo
Safari - Where kids 10 and up get up close with Zoo animals for
fun photo opportunities. Camera and film must be supplied by students.
