MUSEUMS

In addition to the Elvehjem Art Museum and the Madison Art Center, Madison has several other fine museums. The State Historical Society has extensive exhibits on Indian lore, relics of pioneer days, paintings, statues and dozens of other interesting exhibits, all housed in a facility on the Capitol Concourse. The Madison Children's Museum offers hands-on opportunities for learning to children of all ages. Other museums worth seeking out are located in the University Geology and Biology Departments, and the State Veterans Museum, a unique gallery of memorabilia focusing on Wisconsin's participation in past conflicts.
