I miss Bruce Williams during the week. I feel his show is more entertaining and educational than John & Ken.

Hey! Where did Deb In The Afternoon go? She was a little silly, but I haven't been able to listen to the new guy. I again...want to voice my disappointment in dropping Dr. Joy Browne (far more rational and NOT nearly as BITCHY as the so-called "Doctor" Laura) and Bruce Williams. The ONLY thing I listen to now is a little of Sly and Dr. Dean. I do think Dr. Dean is the best ever. By the way, I have E-mailed WIBA about getting both Joy Browne and Bruce Williams.

I have listened to Sly for years and I was crushed when he left WIBA. You people don't get it you aren't suppose to be in love with him! I usually don't agree with him but I keep coming back because he makes me think. I think that anyone that make us aware of what's going on around us is worth while listening. We have had many conversations at work that I know would of not taken place if it hadn't been for Sly. Believe it or not there are alot of people in this world who don't read the paper or watch/listen to the news! If Sly can provoke it more power to him. I just wish the signal was stronger the southern part of the state.

I was one of the people just appalled to hear that "Deb in the Afternoon" was no more and sent an e-mail expressing my disappointment that she wouldn't be on the air. I assumed that she had been let go for whatever reason. However, I now must eat my words. However, the people who are trashing her should be ashamed of themselves. She was one of the few "real" people on the air any more and I for one will miss her. While I may find Dan Burns barely adequate, I will give him another chance to see if he can impress me. After all how many of armchair critics could host a drive time radio program which people will actually listen to. Not many I imagine.

Raise your power. I can get a Iowa city station clearer than you. Why even Move to 1670??? At least i could hear 1480. Well i am sure that 1480 is weeker now because i get a 1480 station from Michigan instead of WTDA.

Lunatic that Sly is, he occasionally makes sense. I don't know how he can consider himself a liberal. True liberals don't subscribe to things like the Constitition or the Bill of Rights the way Sly does. That is the one reason I keep TDY on instead of JJO. A headache for a cause.

I, too, quit listening to your station in the morning when Sly (John Sylvester) came aboard. Now I quit listening in the evening when you dropped Bruce Williams. If you have a long contract with the evening guys, replace Sly with them. "Deb in the afternoon" is the only time I listen to WTDY.

I am so glad that I finally bought a house in Madison so I no longer have to listen to the WTDY garbage that replaced Bruce Williams during my evening commute!

Please record a new commercial for "Boo & Petie, Too" If I have to hear about the near beheading on top of the mountain again I may behead someone myself.

I still haven't come back to listening during the week. Miss Dr. Joy Brown. Why not pick up "Dr." Laura? She fits better with the likes of the rest of your current line-up and then WIBA could replace her with Dr. Joy so I could listen to her there. Also, why can't you get Arthur Frommer back? His was the best travel program you've had. Now have you even given up on Fodor's Valerie D'Elia? The only program left that I listen to is Bob Brinker.

Sly bailed out ot 101.5 because your sister station 94.1 was killing him in the morning. You guys really dropped the ball. About the only worse station is 100.5 (pathetically juvenile sports announcers). Sly is a Howard Stern wanna-bee. He's still the pathetic redheaded goon that was picked on in high school.

I really think that Dan and Robin are a tremendous improvement in your afternoon program. I listen after work and I like upbeat and humorous programming, because I just like to decompress after work. I used to listen to WLS after work because I couldn't stand Deb. She was so boring and non-humorous despite her forced little laugh after everything she said. This new show is exactly what I want. Cudos to WTDY!

Hey There. First of all... I'd like to say thanks for the nice comments. I do appreciate them, but can we please refrain from bashing Deb? She is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and work with. She does not deserve to be talked about the way she has on this board. PLEASE GET RID OF DEB IN THE AFTERNOON !!!! Dan Burns is much better. Deb lost it long ago after you killed off 'Tim and Deb' She is an immature, boring wretch and a waste of programming time. Either keep Dan Burns in the spot, or bring Ken Hamblin back on the air, the reason I started listening to this station in the first place.

Just wanted to say I totally agree with LYNNE who posted earlier. Sly is so rude, and has such a big mouth, its ridiculous. If I talked the way he did where I worked I would be fired. Haven't listened to the Radio channel, but seen him on TVW. Not counting the rude comments, I think I disagree with just about everything he says. You can bet I won't ever watch him again, or listen to him on the radio. And yes, I do mean it.

Bring back Bruce Williams... AND NOW DEB TOO!!!

I am disappointed with the programming changes you have made lately. I will most definitely miss Deb. She was a fresh voice. I do, however, agree with her when she says that Dan is a good replacement. I am still upset about the rest of the program changes. I think that having Dr. Dean on live is much better that taped. I have a great problem with SLY, G GORDON LIDDY, AND YOUR EVENING PROGRAMMING. SO MUCH SO THAT I WON'T LISTEN TO THE EVENING SHOWS. I drive for a living and am listening to the radio ALL day long. Not just in passing as if I were at a desk, on the phone, or in meetings, but actually listening. The language that is being used in several of your promos makes me NOT want to listen. One of the major reasons is that I take my 9-month old son to work with me everyday. He will learn enough of that garbage when he gets older. I do not need to expose him to that garbage now but I want to get the information not given in the main stream media. The only time we listen now is from 11:00 - 5:00. There was a time when I was impress with WTDY and the fact that they were not main stream media. I really miss Tim and Deb in the morning. I miss Dr. Joy Brown so much, I am looking for a station that carries her. I am repulsed by Sly. I fear for my sanity and that of this country with G Gordon. Please consider returning to the conservative format. I am not referring to political conservatism but rather morally. You might do that before you loose not only me but other listeners as well.

Dan Burns is great, I never laughed during that time slot before! A "Dan and Deb Show" would be great, but we know that wont happen. For every listener you lose, you gain another!

I have listened to WTDY for so long I have forgotten how long it has been. But you are slowly losing me. I don't categorize my views in any particular way. I've listened to both "conservative" and "liberal" talk. But it certainly seems like a less-than-desirable business decision to let one personality (Sly) so completely put his stamp on your programming decisions, even if he DOES say he'll take the "hits" for his choices. We all know he didn't make the choices alone. Someone OK'd them!!! Just as someone OK'd the promo with his comments about the Pope. I'm no fuddy duddy, but those remarks were just plain trash. And the person who OK'd them should be whipped (was that you, Tim?). The snickering over potty talk and trash mouth comments is overtaking your station. If this is "youth-oriented" marketing, then heaven help our youth. Shame on you, WTDY. Selling out for a few ratings points. You've managed to lower the rhetoric in Madison to the level of the rest of the country. Aren't you proud? I think the comment from one of your other respondents sums it up nicely: if you want to visit Bruce Williams, go to www.Imoldand overthehill.com, or something to that effect. That seems to be what you feel about those of us who found Bruce and Dr Joy informative and classy. Sure, Dr. Joy dealt with quirky situations, but she cut through a LOT of the "BS" and didn't let anyone "hoodwink" her. Ditto, Bruce. And every call was not advising someone to get a lawyer. If Sly thinks these two were boring and repetitive and out of date, maybe he should take a page from his own book!! I am beginning to find HIM boring and repetitive, with his whining and his trash talk just to stir things up. What little intelligence and insight is found in your new format (and there is very little), is FAR overshadowed by the tone of the rhetoric. I must actually turn off WTDY at times because I truly find all the screaming, adolescent "I'm proud of my stupid, ignorant comment" humor so grating I truly can't listen to it any more. I feel you have COMPLETELY "unbalanced" your format. It now has Sly's imprimateur all over it. Your station should be WTDSLY, not WTDY. It is a sad day for me, because I truly feel like you have forgotten about me and people like me.

I consistently listen to your station in the morning (not sly)and through Rush's show but rarely turn you on in the afternoon and evening since your programming changes. However, I was in my car and my radio was set to 1670 and I was pleasantly surprised by Debbie Monteray's replacement, Dan Burns. He is a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for the change, now if you could replace Dr. Edel with Dr. Brown and Tom Lycus with Micheal Reagan you would have a consistent listening audience. Other listeners that want a liberal voice can turn on ANY OTHER RADIO OR TELEVISION STATION OR READ ANY NEWSPAPER (with few exceptions)and get that voice.

Your station appears to favor right leaning causes consistantly. I was wondering if WTDY is aspiring to be objective or if you are trying to become a conservative-only information source. Non-conservative viewpoints are seldom heard from directly and are often ridiculed on your local programming. The sole exception would be Sly's more libertarian pronouncements. Your station appears to be creating a neo-conservative political correctness. Is that your intent?

I'm bummed.

I am sick and tired of listening to Sly. I have found him disgusting from the first time I heard him on his previous station. He has gone past the limit lately. His remarks about "lightning shooting out the Pope's asshole" is bad even for him. I am taking WTDY off my pushbuttons. I am sending Email to Rush to request he find a new station in the Madison area to associate with. Can't we have a nice civilized discussion of Madison area politics.

This morning SLY stated that Veterans did not know what they were fighting for and that flag burning should be allowed. I am against flag burning and realize that some people like to excuse this for freedom of speech. My point is, SLY has never served his country like many of the fine veterans who have risked their lives for one of the very freedoms he uses on his show every morning. I think it is a slap in the face to all veterans. I know it draws an audience for your station. However, I am boycotting his program from now on and spreading the word likewise. Rush is Right!

I wish you all would stop crying about the changes on WTDY. I for one must say I love them! I like the new person on in the afternoon... I like the Tom Lykus show and I like that Jon and Ken show. Good work WTDY!!

It was hard in the beginning not to be able to listen to Dr. Joy and Bruce. Now I've got a second shift job so I can't listen in the evening and in the morning I listen to 1310 and then Kathy and Judy (WGN 720). It is really too bad that WTDY didn't listen to a majority of its listeners when they spoke about the changes that were made.

Would you please send Deb on a permanent vacation? Whoever (and I mean 'whoever') is covering for her is much, much better and more interesting.

First of all, let me say that I am not a listener and have not been since I first heard "Sly in the Morning" a few years ago and found his racism, sexism & general stupidity completely disgusting ... but this morning as I flipped channels I heard him & someone else making fun of customs of people at King Hussein's funeral and I was moved to listen a little longer to determine who your advertisers are. I intend to let them know I will not patronize their businesses as long as they support this kind of #$@%%$#.

Adding G. Gordon Liddy and Tom Lickus to your lineup has helped me appreciate what a quality programming is available on Wisconsin public radio!

RE: PRIVACY LAWS NEED STRENGTHENING This is to suggest that, given the widespread availability of very invasive, concealable surveillance devices, both Federal and State privacy laws should be strengthened. These devices should be specifically named in the revised laws, with the usual "to include but not be limited to" clause: 1. Police/customs through-the-wall radar units (as manufactured by Millitech Corp. of Bolton, MA, also capable of through-clothing observation, or, the Georgia Tech "Radar Flashlight for Through-the-Wall Detection of Humans") 2. Thermal imaging devices 3. Hidden video cameras/camcorders 4. In-body involuntary electronic tracking implants ** These devices should be banned for use except by warrant. ** Warrants issued permitting this type of surveillance must be made public within 90 days of issuance, and the public must have easy, cost-free access to research these documents. (Internet archive is recommended). ** Personal names and street addresses may be blanked out, but city, state, issuing judge, and date of issue must remain readable. Most citizens are not aware of item 1, the so-called "passive millimeter wave radar units", which are in use by police and customs, and thus are obtainable on the black market to people with severe anti-social behavioural problems. Personally, I feel the in-body tracking implants should be outright banned, but if not, they must surely be included within privacy laws. I sincerely hope privacy laws will be given a high level of priority, given the state of surveillance technology. An Open Letter To "Former Listener" Why do you find the need for boring radio shows that do not challenge you in any way? (read:Bruce Williams) Also, do you also resort to name-calling with anyone who may have a contrary opinion to your own? And then not even having the intestinal fortitude to sign your name? Please, do yourself a favour and get yourself a spine.

It was a hassle when you picked up slym because I had to keep retuning a good morning station and then back to Bruce at night. Now there is no problem you have such crap I no longer bother.

Why don't you guys pick up The Kim Komando Computer Show? I heard her out of WLS in Chicago but they play her on tape delay Saturday evenings. Not only is she HOT on the radio but have you checked out her Website? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
